In an era where 3D digital technology and artificial intelligence permeate everyday life, this exhibition explores the newly revealed facets of traditional Korean accessories and their creative possibilities amid technological change.
In an era where 3D digital technology and artificial intelligence permeate everyday life, this exhibition explores the newly discovered aspects of traditional culture and creative possibilities amid technological change through Korean traditional ornaments.
From time-honored production methods to the gradual integration of advanced technologies, we present a variety of processes, materials, and their results. By observing how the forms and expressions of jewelry vary according to tools and techniques, we seek the creative meaning behind each work and the potential for expanding traditional culture.
Visitors can interact with a self-developed AI agent that was used in the creation of the exhibited works. Specialized in traditional jewelry, the agent designs pieces based on user-input motifs and generates 3D data suitable for manufacturing, including 3D printing. This process offers an experience of new creative methods where tradition meets artificial intelligence, making imagination tangible.
Our AI traditional photo booth, developed in-house, generates high-resolution AI images of visitors wearing hanbok and traditional jewelry, reflecting their photos and preferences. Built upon a Korean tradition-based database and customized algorithms, the AI minimizes distortions that may arise when expressing cultural context, allowing visitors to experience our traditional culture more authentically. The completed images, set against various iconic Korean landmarks, can be printed on site as keepsakes. Through this engagement that spans from appreciation to direct design and photography, visitors encounter a tradition evolving alongside technology.
